Growth In Christmas Sales for Tesco’s

Tesco have reported its strongest growth over the last 3 years. They reported that sales excluding new store opening, VAT and petrol all grew by 1.8%.

They also reported that food sales was very strong in growth and they reason that to customers responding to ‘a much stronger seasonal offer.

They added that food sales had rising by 18%online.

Last Christmas they had reported a 2.3% decrease in sales so to come back and increase it by 1.8% was a great achievement.

They have also appointed a new managing director who goes by the name of Chris Bush.

In the american chain they saw a 4.1% increase in sales so over all it was a very successful Christmas for the big supermarket.
